Subject: Where to locate Trumpet?
Hi,
A few months ago some nice user sent me a file describing all the various
Slip programs available (Trumpet, WinMosaic, etc, ad nasium) and where to
locate them at.
However, I lost that file and now my InterNet provider also offers
SLIP/PPP. Could somebody out there either 1) re-email me that file (or
any file) which describes all the various programs 2) e-mail me the FAQ if
it tells me where to obtain the files 3) the official distribution site
for Trumpet and its various other programs. Thanks in advance.

When you are in the List mode (where all the subject/authors/etc. are listed)
-- just start typing away the word you want to find and Trumpet jumps to the
next occurence of what you typed. It's not great but it is a start. I imagine
once the search routine is stable and robust, it can be implemented in other
parts of the program too.

The *DOS* version of Kermit *does* support tcpip through the use of a packet
driver. In addition to Kermit, there is a nice small DOS program called conex
that supports tcpip and int14 and has the kermit file-transfer capability.
No, niether of these are winsock programs, but both support rtcpip and kermit
under DOS....

Subject: Huh?
Would someone, please tell me what the advantage is to using Cello,
Mosaic, Winsock, etc? I see all you folks talking about how great these
programs are, and I would like to join the fun.

I think it's revision B, if that helps. Perhaps the "extract" button (which,
in case you don't know, is a handy uudecoder that extracts files in any order)
is a new feature? But that still doesn't explain its disappearance...
